Summary
This online course, delivered in French and English, introduces the concepts and techniques needed to develop and implement strategies for the restoration of forest landscapes and ecosystem services in multi-use landscapes. This course is delivered in collaboration with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO). The course aims to: 1. equip key stakeholders in Africa and The Restoration Initiative (TRI) focal countries with knowledge about social, economic, biological, and political factors that shape landscape restoration activities and 2. support them to develop restoration plans adapted to their own context.
Content
The course provides participants the opportunity to advance their knowledge through a series of presentations, discussions, readings and case studies. Over the duration of the course, weekly assignments and the final project will guide the participants to develop preliminary management plans for a specific site of professional interest. This course also provides a space for participants to share their experiences and conceptual and technical expertise with ELTI facilitators and other guest speakers in weekly live sessions.
