Summary

This short training is intended to build the capacity of local stakeholders of the Wanariset research forest in East Kalimantan, Indonesia, to use Android-based Geographical Positioning Systems (GPS). Apps are now available to turn Android phones into portable GPS units, but many people don’t know how to use them. This training will teach the knowledge and skills needed to use GPS as a way to begin developing a multi-stakeholder approach to conserving/restoring the Wanariset forest.
