Symposium: 6th International Symposium of the Philippine Native Plant Conservation Society Inc.

Summary

On November 15–19, 2021, the Philippine Native Plants Conservation Society (PNPCSI) is holding its 6th International Symposium with the theme, “Saving the Plants that Save Us: Conservation of Native Flora Amidst Calamities.” PNPCSI is a Philippine non-profit organization founded in 2008 by botanist Leonardo L. Co that advocates for the conservation of Philippine native flora and their natural habitats. This organization is also an active member of the Rainforest Restoration Initiative Network (RFRI), a voluntary network of organizations and institutions promoting the use of native species in forest restoration. This symposium showcases not only how native flora protects us from and sustains us through disasters, but also how recent calamities and the on-going health crisis have been affecting conservation work. The symposium includes plenary talks, oral presentations, a virtual poster exhibit, botanical art workshops, and a report on the State of the Nation’s Plants. Pre-register to receive updates about the symposium. Register online—registration is open and free to everyone.
