We created ELTI’s Leadership Program to help selected ELTI alumni apply what they learn in our Field-Based and Online Training Programs. Our support adapts to the interests and needs of each applicant.
As an ELTI alumnus, the Leadership Program could assist you to:
- Develop your own conservation and restoration projects and activities.
- Receive additional training or mentoring on projects and proposals.
- Present your work at a conference or symposium related to our focal themes.
- Receive support in giving your own training.
Which part of the Leadership Program will help you succeed?
Alumni-led Projects and Activities
Many ELTI alumni have been inspired to implement a conservation or restoration project - or to conduct a training - based upon what they learned in our programs. For example, alumni have applied for assistance to establish silvopastoral systems and restoration projects in Panama, and “Rainforestation” demonstration sites in the Philippines.
Training and Mentoring
We connect selected alumni with our staff, steering committee and local partners. The assistance adjusts to the individual’s needs: from technical advice and training about a restoration project, to developing funding proposals for field-based projects.
When appropriate and possible, we connect alumni to other professionals and institutions in our network for additional support.
Professional Development
We support alumni to participate in additional learning opportunities – including conferences and symposia – that relate to ELTI focal themes. We give preference to alumni who want to share their projects and experiences through formal presentations or poster displays at professional events.
We want to help alumni fill gaps in their knowledge and enhance their ability to address conservation and restoration issues.

Ready to apply?
If you’re an alumnus of one our of programs, you’re invited to apply to the Leadership Program. The selection process is competitive, so you must communicate a concrete conservation or restoration goal and the passion to pursue it.
