Summary
I am establishing a rainforestation demonstration farm at a 1.5 hectare property at Barangay Kambonggan, an upland farming community situated 13 kilometers from Baybay City.
As a person involved in the thrust to educate a large number of people about the necessity to help protect and conserve what is left of the natural environment through the dissemination of VSU Rainforestation program, I believe that adopting Rainforestation myself could convince people that Rainforestation in very doable and possible.
With this, I am establishing a rainforestation demonstration farm at a 1.5 hectare property at Barangay Kambonggan, an upland farming community situated 13 kilometers from Baybay City. This property is a denuded land and planted with a few old coconut trees with grasses predominantly occupying the area. I intend to grow Philippine Native Trees and some fruit trees to demonstrate that unproductive lands could be converted into a vibrant forest which could serve as a source of clean and fresh air, and would bring back the natural functions of the ecosystem, would restore biodiversity in the area and hopefully contribute to the enhancement of the area's water source.
