Summary
Eldemira is a mother of two, cattle rancher and president of the SAVIM Ecological Producers group. Inspired by by two ELTI field courses (Azuero and Colombia), she wants to conduct more sustainable ranching practices and forest restoration to conserve nature for future generations.
This project will establish three model farms with SAVIM members that will demonstrate sustainable ranching, agroforestry systems and watershed restoration. Eldemira and SAVIM aim to demonstrate through model farms that sustainable ranching can improve production while conserving the environment.
This project expects to help empower local landowners to disseminate the importance of these new practices and inspire a change in conventional practices throughout the region.
