Jean Aimé Ruticumugambi, Ph.D.
Postdoctoral Research Associate
Based at the Forest School of Yale School of the Environment, Dr. Jean Aimé Ruticumugambi has spent more than ten years working in forestry, agroforestry, and biodiversity education in the tropics.
Prior to joining Yale’s Environmental Leadership & Training Initiative (ELTI) in April 2026, Jean Aimé Ruticumugambi was a Lecturer in the Department of Forestry at Rwanda Polytechnic. He also worked with the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) as a Research Fellow under the DeSIRA Agroforestry Project in Rwanda. His research focuses on applied forest ecology and silviculture in tropical Afromontane landscapes, with a particular emphasis on the issues of native-species reforestation and land restoration in high-density agricultural landscapes. Jean Aimé Ruticumugambi holds a Ph.D. in Bioscience Engineering: Natural Resources from Ghent University.
