Nicole Israel-Meyer

Program Manager

Based at Yale University, Nicole brings nearly a decade of experience as the Program Manager for ELTI’s Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) initiatives.

With experience in conservation-related work across Latin America, the US (including Alaska), and parts of Africa, she brings an interdisciplinary and systems-thinking lens to all her projects. Nicole’s interests lie at the intersection of conservation, climate change adaptation, and sustainable development. She has focused on supporting initiatives to design interventions that will most appropriately balance livelihood and conservation needs, while increasing the resilience of the local communities in the face of climate change and economic pressures. As the MEL program manager, she is supporting ELTI and its affiliates through strategic planning and MEL processes to improve ELTI’s effectiveness. Nicole holds a Master of Environmental Management from the YSE, where she specialized in ecosystem management and conservation.

I was originally drawn to ELTI for its interdisciplinary approach to capacity building. As I’ve gotten to know the team, I’m excited to work with a motivated group who continuously improves and adapts to work together to improve outcomes for communities and ecosystems.”
